Kenya’s Ouhsummer Ali Abad Shines in Kampala MMA Debut.
In a night filled with action-packed moments, Kenya’s Ouhsummer Ali Abad, known as “Ninja Turtle,” left an indelible mark on the East African mixed martial arts (MMA) scene. The Nairobi Jiu-Jitsu Academy fighter triumphed in his MMA debut at the Blood Warriors Championship, held on November 23, 2024, at Club Obligato in Kampala, Uganda.
Facing off against the formidable Ugandan fighter Sserunjoji Samson, alias “Apex Predator,” Ouhsummer entered the co-main event with high expectations. Sserunjoji, a seasoned competitor from Fight Club Kampala, boasted an unblemished 4-0 MMA record, with his last three victories coming via knockout. His striking pedigree was further underscored by an impressive 18-3 kickboxing record.
However, the evening belonged to Ouhsummer. The Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) purple belt and reigning East Africa BJJ Champion quickly showcased why he is considered one of the region’s most versatile fighters. After an initial exchange of strikes, Ouhsummer took the fight to the ground, where his grappling expertise came to the forefront. In less than two minutes of the first round, he executed a flawless armbar submission, forcing Sserunjoji to tap out and handing the Ugandan his first professional MMA defeat.
The victory not only marked a sensational start to Ouhsummer’s MMA career but also reaffirmed his dominance across multiple combat sports disciplines. Alongside his grappling credentials, Ouhsummer has a perfect 3-0 record in professional kickboxing, underscoring his striking proficiency and adaptability.The fight was hailed as the highlight of the night, drawing praise from fans and analysts alike for its technical mastery and intensity. Ouhsummer’s performance further elevated his status as one of East Africa’s rising stars in the combat sports arena.
