The Tribe UG: Press Play | Wake ft. Mal-X, Tucker HD, and Flex D’Paper – FLEX

If you’ve been sleeping on what Wake has been bringing to the industry, that’s on you! The Spoken Word Artist of the year has been dropping all sorts of gems, from the poetry to the music and to everything in-between! In case you missed it all, let’s get you up to speed;
If you listen to The Tribe UG Podcast, you know that Wake gave us the “Kampala Boy” poem on Flex D’Paper’s debut album, a personal favorite! As if that wasn’t enough, he gave us the “Movement” Poem on The Ugandan Podcast! His spoken word pen has been sharp as ever, but he still found time to deliver pure HipHop flames on the recent Fuse Cypher (Believe), which we also reviewed on The Tribe UG Podcast.
Wake then proceeded to drop his “Muvule” video featuring 1der JR; a nice follow-up to the “Magero” video that he’d released during the pandemic. By the time he announced his album release date, We! Were! Ready!
Wake dropped his debut album MWOTTY on 24th July 2022 and we can’t get enough of it. Great songs, collaborations, cultural blend, bars, traditional instruments, poetry, Gospel… The total package! All arranged perfectly to ensure a top-tier listening experience!
One of the stand-out songs off the album is “Flex” which features Mal-X, Tucker HD, and Flex D’Paper. Between them, the four artists have won a number of awards and they managed to show off and flex that pedigree on the track.
These are some of the most mentioned artists on both seasons of The Tribe UG Podcast, so it was only fitting that we cook up a little something special for this monster of a song.
