EXCLUSIVE: Dustville Records Parts Ways With Pryce Teeba.
UG Hip Hop Awards 2017 Artist of the Year, Pryce Teeba, and prominent Hip Hop/RnB Record label, Dustville, have severed ties after more than 7 years together.
According to reports, Dustville recently released the Side Zeno Hit Rapper, with the label’s chairman and CEO, Don Michael confirming to The Tribe UG that the entertainer is “no longer” with them. Don did not elaborate on why the split took place. Pryce Teeba joined Dustville in 2012 and enjoyed a highly successful run with the Ntinda based record label. He subsequently released his first Mixtape under the label, Kiwedde, in July 2014, which introduced him to the Ug hip-hop scene.
He went on to release Singles such as “Ye Wange”, “Yongeza Omuliro” and “Mubajjune” before he went on to release his second Mixtape under the label, Kambajulire, which was referred to as an Album by many in the hip hop fraternity. It was nominated in the inaugural hip awards in the Category of Mixtape of the year but lost to rapper Keko’S “Love from Venus” Mixtape however his hit lead single “Side Zeno” went on to win Song of the year at the same awards.
Since joining the label, Pryce secured collaborations with top acts such as Patrobas, TuckerHD, Byg Ben, Ruyonga, BigTril, among countless others. He went on to Drop industry moving tracks such as “Nvuga kampala remix” and “Bobi Wine” with the help of Dustville’s in-house hit maker Baru Beatz. Off the back of this he was nominated and won the award for Artist of the year Award in the 2017 UG hip-hop awards.
Pryce Teeba’s Last Project with the label is his highly anticipated Kash Crop Mixtape which was recorded and mixed at Dustville studios. Accompanying the mixtape is a music video for the single “Level Ndala” after which Dustville Records will relinquish all administration and oversight of any of his releases.
